Stirling Castle was as good a starting point as any for the promo shoot I photographed for Tillicoutry band, The French Quarter. The band, currently preparing their first - self financed - mini album for release, brought me through to Stirling this weekend to take their press shots.
The castle provided us with several locations to shoot including an off-the-cuff headshot series sitting in the royal banqueting chair. After leaving the castle we moved to a small record shop called Europa. The shop has a vinyl section "through the back" where we shot a few ideas.
Finally we took a drive out towards Fintry to a small stretch of water hidden by most of the surrounding countryside. This gave me a perfect opportunity to use the small metal jetty to pose the band and incorporate the boats out on the water.
The band are scheduled to release the mini album "We are not French" on their own as yet untitled imprint on the 1st September 2008. You can listen to tracks from the record on their myspace page: http://www.myspace.com/thefrenchquarter
