Of all the days to take a trip to the "seaside", I had to choose the day where the rain didn't so much fall, as hover. It was that cold, drizzly, swishy, swashy, watery and most essentially, wet precipitation, absent of all rhythm as it hung in the air for us to walk around in.
We - that is Sarah, aka The Kara Sea, and I - had travelled down to Weymss Bay to shoot a promo session for The Kara Sea's website and other uses. The primary location was to be the ferry on the crossing to Rothesay. No sooner had we boarded said vessel than the dismal inundation began to appear.
In complete disregard to sodden clothes, running make-up and blustered hair we decided to shoot on the ferry, in the rain and - thankfully - we arrived on the shores of Bute with a decent horde of photographic evidence of our endeavours.
We didn't stop there though. It would have been unthinkable to come to Rothesay and not use the putting green. The astonishingly friendly - but ultimately bemused - ladies who were manning the putting green hut were only too happy to lend us a club and ball and looked on as the rain hung in the air and Sarah posed on the greens.
On the return voyage to the mainland, shooting done, I took the opportunity to capture some sounds for a future We Sink Ships soundscape while Sarah enjoyed a well earned rest.
